Japanese shipbuilders lead the world in quality, but many are now experiencing the consequences of outdated processes, systems, and workflows. The Japanese Laboratory of Practical Technology (LPT) and Inamasu Shipbuilding have combatted this by using advanced 3D technology to improve on Inamasu’s sophisticated shipbuilding techniques.
Working together, LPT and Inamasu were able to overcome these challenges, and obtain both control and reliability over their engineering processes. Most importantly, this was accomplished with minimal disruption.
LPT and Inamasu are using advanced 3D technology to improve Japan’s sophisticated shipbuilding techniques. They are doing this by leveraging the latest solutions from SSI. Instead of just using older 2D design approaches, LPT has worked with Inamasu to develop an early 3D model to drive the automatic creation of traditional Japanese style 2D output.
